Traditional Large Grain Goddess

Traditional Large Grain Goddess

The time honoured tradition of creating a home for the spirit of the last cut of grain is re created by natural fibre artist, Victoria Musson. The vegetation figure on offer is a traditional example of ancient folklore and country crafting. The last of the barleycorn that was reaped upon the land is made into a mother goddess figure to keep the spirit safe through the long winter months. Here is a fine example of that ancient tradition, the barleycorn has been expertly crafted into a female form and given magical life. She wears a simple robe of white with a sash of pale yellow and has a straw star upon her belt. She is perfect for hanging as decor inside the house or as sacred decor upon the home altar for the seasonal rites. Height approx 45cm x 33cm
